Well, in spite of a record breaking winter, the Konkels, the Coopers, the Storys, and Reflections on Spring Creek are preparing for a wonderful City of Plano/Plano Garden Club Garden Tour that will take place in this lovely neighborhood the weekend of Saturday April 24 and Sunday April 25. All proceeds from the sell of tickets go to scholarships for University students studying horticulture at local universities as well as A & M, University of Texas, and Texas Tech. This tour has provided over $30,000 is scholarships thus far and we look forward to this tour being a record breaking event.
We are especially pleased that Timberbrook Estates was choosen to represent the city's beautiful gardens. In the past, most of the gardens featured were on the west side of town in the Willow Bend area, but when the committee saw this lovely neighbonhood along with the gardens of the three homes, the greenbelt and ponds, they were most anxious to feature Timberbrook! What an honor! And what a wonderful chance to showcase the east side of Plano to the Plano public who doesn't even know that this neighborhood exists.
The gardens will each have a garden club guide. In addition this year, Collin County Community College will have students and Instructors in the gardens painting works of art and there will be a Texas Naturlatist in the greenbelt area to explain the various wild grasses. flowers, and plants that are prevalent in our greenbelt and surrounding areas, including the new parks.
We are anticipating that several string quartets are going to be available to play in the gardens from time to time to add to the ambiance, so please support this very worthy cause and come stroll through these four very beautiful gardens. They are located at:
Michael and Penny Story - 3100 Burleson Drive (right behind the Konkels) backing onto the greenbelt Randy and Joan Konkel - 3101 Brewton Drive (right behind the Storys) siding onto the greenbelt Chris and Debra Cooper - 7024 Twin Ponds Drive (backing onto one of the ponds) of the green belt. Reflections on Spring Creek -1901 East Spring Creek Parkway (owned by Michael and Penny Story) an acre of gardens, ponds and waterfalls directly across from Plano Centre.
Brimming with natural beauty, see roses, spirea, jasmine, freesia, tulips, crocus, pansy, daylilies, fringeflowr, lantana, amethyst, mahonia, and dozens of other flowers and trees including flowering cherries and red buds. Abundant species of salvia, gayfeather, and native plants are becoming more popular in the hot Texas weather, and watch for numerous pots filled with surprises. Charming English gardens, as well as semi-formal forms are represented, and you will learn how to self compost right from the greenbelt!

Tickets are available at each home for $15 or may be purchased in advance for $12 from Calloways Nursery; Puckets Nursery in Allen; Shades of Green Nursery; Petals Florist; and Wells Brothers. WATCH FOR THE TIMBERBROOK HOMES TO BE FEATURED IN APRIL'S PLANO PROFILE...
We want to thank the Timberbrook Neighborhood in advance for what we know will be a wonderful event!
